was kinda hoping someone would answer before it was too late to get to the shop to get a bulb, went ahead and went to dealer and got one and then went to autozone and sylvania 158 is the bulb #, the only difference is the harley ones come with a yellow cover, I assume to keep the light dimmer, 3.99 at the dealer for one, 4.99 for two at autozone.

Yep and that little yellow cover will not peel off to be reused. I have 2 with and 2 without the cover. Can just barely tell the difference at night.

You can buy the lamps in different colors.

You can also buy the yellow covers seperately from HD

When the lamps get hot the yellow covers kind of bake on.

Hate it when I replace one and now it's a different colour from the others. Within a short time another bulb goes so it's off with the fairing again for that one. Now I replace the set and am done with it. Learned my lesson.

rhino;

If all else fails: take the bulb to your local auto parts store, hand it to the guy behind the counter, tell him you need a replacement bulb and he will hook you up.

2000 FLHTC Gauge still works just starts bouncing up and down when taking off or coming to a stop with 1/2 tank or less. Just started that this summer. Not worried about though, I just watch the miles on the tripometer.
