Could be a bad fob, or antenna or tssm. Is the fob in a pocket with a bunch of other metal keys?
All by it's lonesome in my coat left pocket. Only a metal zipper in the pocket. I will go out with the other fob and test both out of the jacket and in the jacket. Bike has done this from new. Anttena and all that crap is in place in the caddy. I'll report back. Also, I will see how far away the fob will work. If I move the bike around too much, even at 8' with the fob zipped up in the coat it won't start. I need to be beside it to deactivate it so it will start.

General / Re: Warranty repair by Dealer
« Last post by Ohio HD on Today at 05:03:22 AM »
The repairs had nothing to do with the oil lines. The mechanic left the positive cable rubbing on the battery box and it went to ground and in turn grounded out through the oil lines and burned up the braided part of the line and the bike caught on fire, luckily nothing was hurt. The Dealer agreed to cover all costs on the repair. The oil lines were on back order and not expected for a month.I was told my only option to fix it sooner was to try and find the parts on my own, which I did. Then he tells me I needs to make a claim to mother HD to recover my costs.      Coff 06

That explains it a lot better than the first post.
Did the dealer told you he'd cover ALL  costs or all LABOR cost ?
Sounds like you need to talk to the owner , if he's not the one you've been talking to already.

 X2

I don't know what Mik 42s come with stock, but I'd start with:
22.5 slow jet
98 needle
as DEW suggests, a 50 accel. pump nozzle.
adjust the accel pump so that there's about a dime-sized gap before it starts, and so it's done pumping no later than half-throttle.

107 with 45Mik 574 cams SE ign
22.5 slow jet
98 needle
187 main
60 accel dime-sized gap
40ish mpg if I not flogging it

80 EVO with 42Mik 2015 cam SE ign
17.5 slow jet
98 needle
165 main
50 accel dime-sized gap
45ish mpg if I not flogging it

You never now what has been effected when one part goes bad. change all 3 pieces, then you know everything is good.

The first thing you must do is to check the regulator.
There is a very good chance it is still OK, but if not, well, you wouldn't want it to take out your new stator would you!

I'll be the first to tell you to seriously consider replacing the stator and regulator with the 3-phase kit from Cycle Electric.

Just to clarify....

Has it always been this way or is it something new?

Are you running Harley plugs or did you "upgrade"?

Any mods done to the radio or sound system?

I must be doing something really wrong  I only get 32 mpg  95 BB  54g cams ported/polished and 42 mikuni  3.28 gearing    did not get 50 when new   and with jetted CV carb I got 35 mpg that was with 37g cams  I ride with a lot of people that have big bore and some run 45 mikuni  none of them get over 35 at best and I would think that one of them would have a proper tuned bike because its for sure I don't  < my bike was dyno tuned >
