Tman 625 cams Thanks!
« on: Saturday, April 18, 2009. 06:18:38 PM. »
Just want to post a big thanks to Bagger Slimm for suggesting these Tman 625's, WFOLarry for your support & Valley racing for the install & tune & forum member Clintster without you it would not have happened at all. What an absolute delightful riding experience I had today. This 103 bagger is so sweet to run through the gears & has so much low end Tq for a 103 that it's hard to put into words. Now it was no slouch running the HQ-33's but it's down right scary out of the hole if you lean on it hard. I'm still a bit worried how it will act when it's a 100 degrees out, but what ever it takes to manage it for the performance I have now will be worth it.  Thanks Gents, it sure does get errr done, those 625's ROCK & there quiet also go figure!

I enjoyed the TR-625 when it was in my 103.  TR has some of the best cam grinds out there....smooth and strong torque curves right out the get go.

Giddyup, glad to hear they are working for you.  One other person deserves some credit Dr Dave also had something to do with the great deal you got.  With TR's grinds I am afraid I will lug the motor because they pull from such low rpm...

How high will you be running your compression ratio on the 107" build?  I'll definitely be interested in hearing/seeing your result when completed.

Yea it's been on the dyno, but I have not posted it, cause it ain't SAE, don't want to be ridiculed. It's clocking in about 115/115 crosses 100 Tq at 2.7k rpm & stays there till 6K rpms.

What CR are you gonna set yours up at & with what heads?

I'm at 10.3:1 right now with 215 on the gauge with Andrews TW55 cams. My heads are stock with, bigger valves, ported, etc..  on the dyno I got 105 hp with 110 tq (SAE). I talked with T-Man about the .625 cams and said I would be very happy with the bottom end torque those cams produce. from what you are saying he is right.

That cam will work well there.  I am running the TR-662-1 in my 107 at 11:1 CR.  Been thinking about trying the TR-590 in my build, just to compare with the 662.  I ran the 590 in my 103 as well as the 625, both performed well in that build at 10:1.

I would like to see the results of the .590 and the .625 on the same build. I have heard good things about the .590 as well.

was the 590 noisey? I am looking to replace my Woods TW8 because the noise is too much and i hear that the 590 is its equal performance wise.

I run the TR 590's with the TR's ported heads and the noise level is nice and quiet.  I am running about 10:8 to 1 on 95.   Had acquired the 625's for use on a 107, never did he 107 or tried the cam.  I have a set of 650's for my upcoming 116 project, send money, TR said I could run them with the 4 degree advance in my 95.  But the 590's run so good hard to make any changes.  As well behaved as this set-up is I would say they should come from the factory with something comparable.
