Home made truing stand...

tireater:
It looks like I am going to have to start truing my own wheels...Does anyone have a pic of a truing stand they made...? Thanks

hdjax2:
Sorry, no pics but I made one very crude and simple out of wood. 2x4 uprights and a plywood base. A couple gussets to brace the uprights to the base. Drilled axle holes in the uprights, mount a wheel and a dial indicator and have at it. I have 2 dial indicators so I can watch lateral and radial runout at the same time and it makes truing wheels pretty easy.

Real basic and crude but it works like a charm:

I used 4 small roller bearings out of a vacuum cleaner beater brushes, in a angle iron stand.  If I get a chance tonight I'll post a photo.
