Whats the best clutch for a high HP/TQ build??
« on: Wednesday, September 12, 2012. 10:47:44 PM. »
So much conflicting information out there. I talked to some guys at the local shop, they are saying Rivera Pro Clutch..

Then I read some threads on here where guys are having slipping issues with the pro clutch and gold spring...

I have a gift card for the local shop and want to grab something for the new motor, so whats the best clutch out there for a 126"?

I race on the weekends and ride 500km a week. I want something that wont slip.

SnS clutch any good?

Many of us are quite happy with the Bandit Sportsman. It works great in my 120"

clutches are like oil threads, you will never get an agreement on what is best. I run a rivera pro clutch with their VPP in my G2 126" RK with no slippage.

Bandit rocks!  Holds hard and pulls VERY easy.  None better IMO and the opinion of many others.

S&S also make a very good unit claimed to hold up to 200 hp.  I have used a couple and have not been able to make them slip.  dsv

+1 for the Bandit.
A 55 Gallon drum of $100 bills should fix that!

When wanting the absolute best the industry has to offer,(does come with a cost) with a super-wide range of adjustability, along with light lever pull, look no further than Bandit Machine Works.
Those folks were the forerunners, of what others have cloned over the years.

Has anybody used the Bandit in the newer bikes that have compensator issues?  How does the recommended Spectro oil effect it?

FWIW I've been running a Rivera Pro for 5 yrs behind my 126hp/133t S&S 124 without issues.
Clutch pull wiith the gold spring is heavy, but usable. Holds well enough to make the rear wheel spin up at 6000rpm in third, with 12% taller than stock gearing.  Buffalo

With your 120" i'de add a couple .050 shims to each spring too.  Won't affect the pull but will make it hold better under load

Are you running the recommended Spectro fluid?
