oil filter

OK !!!! so our local Harley dealer went to independent a few years back, circumstances unknown.  I still want to support them since it's the only place I can get parts if needed and I kinda like everyone there.  So I go and buy some oil filters and they sell me a couple of s&s filters for my 07 FLHR.  I just ask if they are as good as the Harley ones and of course they say yes.  Not to question them I take them home and out of the bag a few weeks later and notice tonight that the box says "Fits 99-06 big twin engines"  part number 31-4103.  Then I notice that the back is a different size and my filter wrench won't fit,  so what's up ! is it going to work or not?

Coyote:

* Captures smaller particles than stock filters
* Low restriction to oil flow
* Direct bypass - bypass oil does not pass over dirty filter media
* Smaller diameter for easier installation
* Black or Chrome Finish
* 1999-up Harley-DavidsonŽ big twin models and X-WedgeŽ

Chrome. . . .31-4104
 Black. . . . . .31-4103

FSG:
S&S 31-4104 (chrome) is a direct replacement for Harley-DavidsonŽ part number 63798-99A and
S&S 31-4103 (black) is a direct replacement for Harley-DavidsonŽ part number 63731-99A.

The filter will work but your filter wrench wont.   :emsad:  One of the reasons I like the K&N's.

Thanks guys for the info, guess I'll use them up and see if I can find the KN's and give them a try.
