Bike drains the battery and check engine light comes on.

My sons 08 sportster nightster XL 1200 keeps draining the battery.  The code reads PO562.   Does anybody know what that code means??

I don't know what the code is, but I'd be checking the voltage regulator for the bleed to ground.

Code is battery voltage low. Measure amp drain and remove one fuse after the other to isolate the circuit in question. Amp drain of the regulator is a likely cause :agree: which will remain after all fuses are pulled

check the fuses for corrosion i have seen it drain batteries before

Check the plug coming from the stator to the regulator under the oil filter, I've had mine come loose. I've also seen relays getting coroded (green death), they are under the lft side cover.
