IMO duel plugging is not needed unless you have real high dome pistons or the single plug just won't fire off the fuel in the chamber

DUDE, looks like you got screwed, one of them heads is for an EVO! I just had a set of STD 3 5/8 dual plugged Pan heads in my hands yesterday. Cat came by my shop lookin for parts for it.

I have just about 10.1:1  relatively low dome KB forged slugs

I'd do it without hesitation.  Dual plugs is the way to go for an efficient burn in shovels.
