« on: Saturday, April 30, 2011. 06:52:17 PM. »
I have had 2 sets of 120R pistons .010/over with wrist pin hole the same size as the pin.   Has anyone else seen this.

We have seen this in years gone by with cheap off-shore cast pistons.
Often thought that they were machined while very warm, and then changed size once back to ambient air temps.
Odd.

I've had my share of them too, no problem , just warm up the piston and throw the wrist pin in da fridge...slides right in. :pop:

Most all good quality pistons of modern day era, are honed, from what we see here, to result in a "floating pin" fitment.

That's good, and will result in a slight drag, when pushing it thru, with your hand.
If your honing those(or having it done) in a Sunnen hone, make sure you scub those bores clean.

Will be cleaned up in a washer. Next move is to send the pistons out and get the groves cut for the larger clips. I lost a clip out of first set and not sure why.

Make sure you get clips that match the pin. There is a difference.
