Tman 625 VS SE264
« on: Tuesday, May 26, 2009. 07:49:43 PM. »
Just installed a set of tman 625 cams alot TQ at lower RPM. Lost about 8 HP with this cam change over the SE264 cam.  The 625 is alot quieter, it is about as quiet as stock. Im happy with the quiet valve train. The reason for changing was to get a quieter cam and more TQ quicker in the RPM range and i got both. Just wasn't expecting to lose that much HP I knew i was going to lose a little to get more TQ.
I have a Fatcat with the Big Boar baffle. Just wondering if i went with a boarzilla exhaust or the NEW VH pro pipe hi out put exhaust would i get a little of my HP back.

Dyno 625 is RED Line
     SE 264 is BLUE Line

IMO,
You might but you will more than likely loose some of the bottom end that you recovered... See the "over exhausting" thread. Max

What does you`re butt tell you, looking at the graph the 625 out performs the 264 by a handfull. unless you are into dyno racing.

You got an increase in HP in the range you do most of your riding, unless your riding style is usually above 5500rpm. Peak numbers don't mean squat for a road bike except for bragging rights IMO. You got a sweet build as is, enjoy.

The TR-625 is a great cam.  Your sheet looks very similiar to mine when I was running the 625's using a V&H Propipe (not the hi-output, but unrestricted).  The Boarzilla is a good pipe with good charateristics throughout the power range.  I would discuss this with TR.
