Removing murals/pinstripes..........

Like Scoutlhx says, oven cleaner works pretty good.  I have taken lettering off work vans before.

I had a lot of "stuff" done on my 99 before I traded it in.  Dealer was going to knock down the trade in price because I had feathers, indians, and a club name on the tank ( no, not a patch club, just a club).  He told me to use oven cleaner and it would take it right off.  Afraid that I would ruin the paint and get even less in trade, I showed up with the bike and a jar of oven cleaner and cash for the new bike.  Told they THEY could take the stuff off since it was "so easy".
Went back 2 days later and didn't recognize the 99.  All the custom stuff was off and the original paint looked perfect.

Yep, A lot of that stuff is painted on with One Shot paint, which is 1930's era technology paint (enamel) its a lot easier to remove than current factory paint and the oven cleaner works well. Be careful if you think the bike has ever had a repaint though. Test the oven cleaner on an inconspicuous part of the bike, (I like a spot under the seat area) Also, don't just forget and leave it there, you need to wash it off after it does its job. Not in a real panic or anything, I have an old fender that someone forgot and let the oven cleaner and paint dry on, it is a mess.
